Tightrope- Janelle Monae
Apparently this bitch is poppin all over Boston, because when I visited, no one could stop praising how amazing she was. I have to say I do enjoy the song, though she sounded better when I was drunk. Check out her sick dance moves!
the best part of ingrid michealsons Thursday in the Square (TITS) show in buffalo yesterday?
getting everyone to sing to the fresh prince of bel air theme song.
Alice in Wonderland Remix

Simple ideas are so often the best. Some behind the scenes images below.
Johnny Cash- Hurt
I used to listen to a lot of Johnny Cash in high school, when everyone else I knew was listening to Panic! At the Disco and watching the O.C. JR has the perfect soulful vibe of someone who has known true pain…but still needs to find a way to be happy. It’s almost a form of wisdom- to know that life is suffering and yet still accept it & even try to overcome it. Anyway, this song means a lot to me because I’ve become more accepting of the transient nature of relationships lately. Friendships are nothing but lessons; once you’ve learned all you can about a person, what’s left? I’ve yet to find out.
Little Weapon- Lupe Fiasco
Now here comes the march of the boy brigade
A macabre Parade of the toys he made
And in Shimmer shades who looks half his age
About half the size of the flags they waved
And Camouflage suits that made to fit youths
‘cause the ones of the dead soldiers hang a little loose
And AK-47’s that they shooting into heaven
Like they’re trying to kill the Jetson’s
They struggle little recruits
Cute Smileless, Heartless, violent
Childhood destroyed, devoid of all childish ways,
Can’t write their own names or read the words on their own graves
Think you gangster popped a few rounds,
These kids will come through and murder a whole town,
Then sit back and smoke and watch it burn down,
The grave gets deeper the further we go down
one of my old friends from high school posted this on her facebook; i guess it’s by someone named helene park, according to vimeo. it’s just a really fun, child-like piece and the music is perfect. check it out.
